Rong Ying, vice president of the China Institute of International Studies, tells CGTN’s Wang Guan that despite certain differences and disputes, China and Vietnam are close neighbors with a long history of relationship. However, disputes in the South China Sea involve China and other ASEAN countries, and external powers should respect the region’s efforts to find solutions, rather than trying to “fish in troubled waters.” China-Vietnam relations are progressing, and there’s ample room to manage changing dynamics in the region, Rong says.
