As a result of two rocket attacks by Russian troops on the center of the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, on Monday evening, August 7, five people were killed and 18 more were injured, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said on Telegram .
“As of 21:20, as a result of the first arrival, 4 civilians were killed and 3 were injured. During the repeated shelling, the deputy head of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Donetsk region was killed,” he specified.
According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, among the wounded during the second attack by the Russian Federation, four rescuers and eight policemen were the first to arrive at the scene of the strike to help people.
“Search and rescue work is underway. We are sorting out the rubble, saving people from Russian terror,” Klymenko added.
UPD: As of 21:50, 31 people were injured as a result of an enemy attack on Pokrovsk. Among the injured were 19 police officers, 5 rescuers of the State Emergency Service and one child. The number of victims has not changed, Klymenko wrote .
According to the head of the Donetsk OVA, Pavel Kirilenko, at 22:00 there was information about five dead and 14 injured civilians, including an injured 11-year-old child. There were also reports of two dead employees of the State Emergency Service and one military man. “9 police officers, a local administration worker and a military man were wounded,” he added.
Before that, Kirilenko wrote that the Russians launched two attacks on the center of Pokrovsk, damaging nine- and five-story buildings, residential buildings in the private sector, a hotel, catering establishments, shops, and office buildings. As Klimenko wrote, the Russian army fired two missiles at residential buildings.
