German Christkindlmarkt on the Bund
One of Shanghai’s best and most authentic Christmas markets is back at it’s new location, the Rockbund near the Bund. With over 30 stalls, it’s time to eat your weight in regional specialties from Germany and other countries, and sip Glühwein (mulled wine) while shopping for handicrafts, gifts, and festive baked treats. For kids and big kids, Santa will be coming by on the weekends to grant wishes. This one can get really busy on weekends. Opens: Wednesday – Friday: 4pm – 10pm and Saturday – Sunday: 12pm – 10pm. No entrance fee.

Christmas Market @ Paulaner Raffles City
The Paulaner’s 15th annual Christmas market has moved it’s location a few times, from it’s original Fenyang Lu location to the Paulaner in Pudong, and now to it’s new home at the Paulaner Raffles City. It’s on every weekend in December plus on Christmas Eve. Expect a cozy atmosphere, traditional food and drinks, local vendors and plenty of activities for the kids. Free entry to the Christmas Market, opening on Saturday from 11am to 10pm, Sunday from 11am to 9pm, and Christmas Eve from 3pm to 10pm.
