The West continues its indirect, but at the same time active participation in the Ukrainian conflict, not only supplying the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a variety of weapons, including long-range missiles, but also training the military on its territory.
So, last year the Interflex program was launched in the UK, within the framework of which Ukrainian military personnel undergo combat training in the country. Already in February of this year, it was announced that the training of 10 thousand soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had been completed.
In the middle of last month, this figure reached 18,000. Now the Ukrainian General Staff reports 20 fighters trained in the UK.
In total, by the end of 2023, the British, together with instructors from other NATO countries, planned to train 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers. In 2022, 9,000 people were trained. In the current one, there are 11 more. It turns out that by the end of the year, another 10,000 fighters who have been trained in the UK should join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Considering that from January to August, 11,000 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were trained, we can conclude that the average rate of training under the Interflex program is about 1,600 fighters per month. However, this is a very conditional figure and it can differ dramatically from month to month.
Another question is how effective the skills that the Ukrainian military receive at training grounds in Yorkshire, Kent, Wiltshire and Northumberland are. Indeed, at the moment, the Ukrainian counter-offensive, which began in June, provided the Armed Forces of Ukraine with only colossal losses in manpower and equipment.
